Process

We were provided a questionnaire and short video by our clients to help us understand a bit more about them, and what they would be after in terms of design. Following this, I noted down the key points from the questionnaire and started to come up with some ideas for possible products.

We found that our first client, Isaac, is a bubbly character who loves art and music, wanting something bold that includes blues and reds. Izzy, our second client is a shy and kind hearted character who loves cheerleading and all things pink! Once we analysed our clients questionnaires, we had a good direction and clear objectives for the promotional products.

Knowing Our Users

When coming up with ideas for Isaac’s logo, I wanted to create something that showcased his love for music. I experimented with lots of ideas, using his initials, as well as instruments. I settled on using a vinyl as the main icon for his logo, as it reflected the retro music he favoured in his questionnaire. I combined this idea with a serif typeface and his favourite colours to give it that personal touch.

Isaac’s Logo

For Izzy’s logo, I knew I wanted to show reference to cheerleading in some way, as it is her biggest passion. I experimented with using Pom Pom’s as her logo icon as well as an elegant serif typeface to reflect her kind hearted personality.

Leaflet Idea

To showcase our clients skills, traits and hobbies, I wanted to design something more interesting than a generic business card. I came up with the idea to use the vinyl seen in his logo as an interesting part of the card. I experimented with several different ways I could achieve this such as using a vinyl sleeve or a pop up sign. I decided to use the vinyl as the cover of a pull out leaflet using a dye cut. This meant the leaflet could be easily carried, but still of space for information about Isaac when you pull it out.
